Craftsman Retake

This renovation and expansion project takes a tight, outdated craftsman bungalow and updates and expands it into a modern home for an active young family. The main level is reconfigured and updated, and includes a new, bold yet functional kitchen space. The green cabinetry complements the surrounding finishes, and also ties to the natural plant and garden elements throughout. The new upper level is accessed by an elegant, new stair, and includes a mid-stair reading nook. By shifting the more private sleeping and bath spaces to the upper level, the main living level is able to function as the open, gathering hub for the entire home.
